Designer Swimsuit

Designer swimsuits have always been the best and most expensive of all swimsuits. Choosing a designer swimsuit over unbranded swimsuits is a wise decision. This is because designer swimsuits usually have a better fit and are more flattering on men and women of all body types. They are worth the extra dollars you pay for them since they are made from good quality materials and (if used properly) usually last longer than unbranded swimsuits. The best time to buy designer swimsuits is off season because you can get the same designer swimsuits at the fraction of the original price. Most experts recommend buying designer swimsuits at summer end sales because that is the time when swimsuit retailers are trying to sell as much of their stock as possible so to make room for next season’s collection.

Profiles Of Famous Bathing Suit Designers

We will now take a look at brief profiles of famous bathing suit designers:

1. Marc Jacobs, one of the most popular mainstream bathing suit designers was born in New York in 1963. Jacobs designed his first collection (of sweaters) at Parson’s School of Design. This collection was taken up by Barbara Weiser and was sold in Weiser stores under the label ‘Marc Jacobs for Marc and Barbara.’ Jacobs has won various prizes for his unconventional and flattering designs some of which are Perry Ellis Gold Thimble, the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble, Design Student of the Year and Council of Fashion Designers of America Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.

2. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (fathers of Dolce and Gabbana the ultimate in designer swimwear) were born in Sicilian village of Polizzi Generosa in 1958 and Milan in 1962 respectively. Dolce moved to Milan to pursue his career in fashion and Gabbana persuaded the same company to employ him. Dolce and Gabbana hit it instantly and came up with their own line of designers clothes within a few years. Dolce and Gabbana has always been mavericks and their collections be it of dresses or bathing suits always goes against the ‘in thing.’

3. One of the best swimsuit designer brands Burberry brand came into existence in 1856 when Thomas Burberry opened a garment store in Basingstoke. Thomas Burberry gained the support of his sons Thomas Newman Burberry and Arthur Michael Burberry in late 1880s. Burberry patented a method of processing yarn to make it water repellent in 1888. Father and sons built mills in Basingstoke and Farnworth, Lancashire to cater to the ever increasing customer demand. Another Burberry store was opened in The Haymarket, London to keep the company expanding. There was no looking back after that. Burberry was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1920 and was taken over by Universal Stores Limited (GUS) in 1955.
